Post-Care Instructions
- Bite firmly on the gauze placed after extraction for 30 to 45 minutes to control bleeding.
- Apply ice to the outside of the face in 20-minute intervals for the first 24 hours.
- Eat only soft foods for the first 24 to 48 hours.
- Do not smoke, use a straw, or rinse vigorously for 24 hours — these can dislodge the clot.
- Rinse gently with warm salt water starting 24 hours after extraction.
- Contact our office immediately if you experience worsening pain after 3 to 4 days.
